Powerball: $300M; MegaMillions: $201M

Take your pick – either drawing would be NICE. But let’s play Powerball this time around.

Powerball for tomorrow’s drawing pays out $95.4M when all is said and done. What would I do?

  • $9.54M to churches
  • $9.54M to charities
  • $9.54M divded into two trusts for children, payable in equal thirds on their 30th, 35th and 40th birthdays
  • $9.54M divided into gifts for friends and family
  • $9.54M into various financial investments
  • $9.54M into various real estate investments
  • $9.54M into scholarship endowments to universities

The crazy thing? That still leaves $34 MILLION dollars to use for anything else. More charities, more investments, bigger trust funds, more gifts, larger scholarships.

But also take a few vacations, buy some acreage out in the country, build our dream house, buy a few horses and pigs and cows and chickens, and just generally enjoy life without stress. Having met a millionaire next door-type guy a couple months ago, I would like to think that I’d do the same thing. I’d like my kids to have a good life, but not a Paris Hilton life. That would suck. I’d want them still to go to college, plan on a career, be normal. And much like one of Mr. BIL’s clients, I wouldn’t want my kids to know they have a lot of money coming to them someday.

What would you do with $95.4 million?
