Today Mr. BIL, an associate and I took a trip out to see a client who has been too ill recently to travel to our offices to sign his estate planning documents. The client lives over in Gastonia in a very small house with his cousin and her husband. He moved in with them earlier this year when his health began to fail. He owns significant acreage down in my neck of the woods in South Carolina.
You’d NEVER know this man has any kind of money. As the associate said as we drove back to the office, “You meet him and think of that book ‘The Millionaire Next Door’.”
The family was really nice AND they gave us cake! It was YUMMY cake too. So yummy that I brought another slice of it back to the office with me to have after lunch.
I told Mr. BIL that between this client this morning and the client who visited the office yesterday afternoon (who was one of those “git ‘r’ done” types that I love), the rest of his clients were gonna have to kick it up a notch.
In lieu of cake, can they will us an acre or two of that land they have near us?
