WW Again

So I joined Weight Watchers again. It’s time for me to lose all this weight that I’ve been carrying around since CootieGirl was born 3 1/2 years ago (you may recall that I did WW after I had CootieGirl and had successfully lost 15-20 pounds before getting preggers with CootieBoy). I signed up for the type of membership that allows me to do everything online as well as attend meetings. But I don’t have to pay for meetings and I don’t get penalized for NOT attending meetings.

This Saturday, however, at 7:30 a.m. I will attend my first meeting for the first official weigh-in and to pick up my materials. I get 28 points a day as well as 35 points to use throughout the 7-day week. So theoretically I get 33 points each day if I spread the 35 points out.

This week though? Not so much with the spreading out. My first day on WW (Monday) I ate 53 points. Now, in my defense, I signed up for WW late in the afternoon after I had had a not-so-good breakfast (Pop Tarts) and lunch (turkey and avocado sandwich on french bread with potato chips). And lots of Oreos later that night (read: about a dozen). But yesterday I did much better, eating only 31 points during the day. Phew! Today I have had about 12.5 points so far. And I need to find my pedometer because my goal is to walk a minimum of 10,000 steps each day and that’ll increase once I get into my new routine of going for walks (right now they are super short walks because the kids are going with us, but once it’s too cold for them to be out that long I’ll begin doing it by myself).

I have no idea what I weigh right now. I weighed myself at my mom’s house back in July, but have no idea if the scale was on target or not. And since my habits have been so wacky due to the move, it’s quite possible that I’m no longer that number anymore. Will I announce the number once I get it? Absolutely not! But I have shared with my friend Ace what that number is presumed to be, and he and I will be keeping each other accountable as we try to lose weight together despite being in two different states.

So here are some goals:

  • I would like to walk 10,000 steps per day
  • I would like to lose at least 65 pounds (what I weighed on my wedding day) and from there will determine if I want to lose another 15 (to be what I weighed when I met Denis)
  • I would like to have at least 25 pounds gone by the time Denis and I go to Scotland next March (that means lose 25 pounds in four months)
  • I would like to have lost the 65 pounds in one year’s time
  • And here are some rewards:

  • First ten pounds: a facial
  • Second ten pounds: a facial and eyebrow wax
  • Third ten pounds: a facial, eyebrow wax, and a manicure
  • Fourth ten pounds:facial, eyebrow wax, manicure, and a pedicure
  • Fifth ten pounds: facial, eyebrow wax, manicure, pedicure, and 30-minute massage
  • Sixth ten pounds: facial, eyebrow wax, manicure, pedicure, and 60-minute massage
  • The last five pounds:$750 for new clothes
  • So let the journey begin, peeps. This time I HAVE to lose the weight. I’ll even post a dreadful picture of me as incentive, then post pictures upon reaching each goal level.

    Anybody with me?

Jaynee, I just wanted to tell you good luck on the weight loss, I did WW a few years back and had good success. Also when you get ready for those rewards, especially the facials, I know someone who will do a great job and she is in Fort Mill, she’s my step mom.

I’d be with you except for the pregnancy thing. However, depending on how I do post-baby arrival, I might be with you then. =)

Christy – I’ll definitely get the info about your step-mom when the time comes! That’s great!

Jen – sure, as long as you bring The Office and Buffy with you this weekend. No videos? No book!

Well, I might be talked into doing it with you, since the doctor told me my cholesterol is high and I need to diet and walk. Bummer…

Good luck, Jane! I know well what you are going through. I did Jenny Craig for 6 wks, then switched to Atkins to lose weight for my brother’s wedding. Happily, I DID manage to lose about 16 pounds in 8 weeks. Let’s hope I can keep it going now!!

Marmie need to diet? Get out of here. I know this would give it all away but what was your weight when we got married? I must have a different number in my head than the actual number. I’ll let you keep it to yourself. Or we’ll let the pictures talk for themselves. I guess this means we won’t be eating steak and potatoes every night any longer.

Denis – obviously I’m not going to announce what I weighed on my wedding day as you are correct that it would be very easy for our dear readers to then calculate exactly what I weigh now. *rolls eyes*

Yeah, really. I’ve also gained a lot since you two got married. Some call it middle-age spread. My doctor calls it unacceptable. *sigh*
