Why I Blog Meme

Meghan tagged me.

I’m supposed to list five reasons Why I Blog and try to make the answer interesting. Yeah, right.

1) To keep family and friends informed of our goings-on despite long distances and life changes. And boy have there been a lot of them! The kids each have their own blog just for pictures and such for family.

2) To keep track of my life. I’m not even kidding. Every year end I rely on my Cootiehog Calendar to remind me of what we did all year. I rely on my book and movie reviews to remind me of what I’ve already read or seen.

3) To vent when things get rough. Actually, I don’t do this nearly as much as I could because sometimes I’ll finish writing a Post of Rage and by the time I’m done venting I’m over it and just delete the post before ever publishing it.

4) To meet new people. I love blogging in general because it has allowed me to become “friends” with some pretty great people. I love to see their family photos, or read about problems that mirror my own, and see that I’m not alone – there are people out there just like me.

5) It’s sad, but I don’t have a fifth reason. Those are my top four and that’s all I have. Maybe someone else can be more creative and come up with the full five.

Feel free to list your five either here in comments or on your own site.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve done that. I feel so ugly when I get really angry, and my writing reflects that. If my blog were more private, I might post instead of deleting… but, as it is now, both my family and my in-laws read my blog.

Meghan – That’s the way it is for me too. If I had an anonymous blog I’d DEFINITELY post it.
