Who Knew I’d Last This Long?

Five years ago, right about NOW (1:37 p.m.), I posted my very first post at Cootiehog.com.

What a change the place has gone through! (psst…click the link to see Cootiehog circa 2002)!

Back then I used Greymatter for my blogging platform.
Back then we used Hosting Matters for our hosting service.
Back then I had no fancy sidebars.
Back then I used really muted colors.
Back then I had 14 websites listed on my blogroll, and three of them weren’t blogs.
Back then Denis made a semblance of participating more frequently.
The Amazing Race was in it’s second season (the Wil & Tara season).

Since that first day:

  • Two kids have been born and gotten their own blogs.
  • I switched from Greymatter to Moveable Type to WordPress.
  • I switched to BlueHost as my hosting service – and they are INFINITELY better!!
  • I’ve had about a dozen different looks or themes.
  • We’ve moved from NJ to SC.
  • I’ve learned a LOT more about what makes a blog interesting (not that I’ve succeeded, but hey – I’m still here trying).

Happy blogging anniversary! I found your blog via your sister’s, and found hers via another one that I don’t read anymore. I started visiting a few months before you announced your pregnancy with CootieBoy. So I guess at least ONE person finds your blog interesting! 🙂

Jaynee, yours was the first blog I ever read! I ended up here by accident when I was googling to find an antidote to spyware and it popped me to an entry that Denis wrote about some anti-spyware product. This was just after CootieGirl was born and I was immediately captivated! Great job and congratulations on your anniversary.

Hard to believe it’s been five years. Thanks for getting me into blogging, my Blog-Mom.
