Okay, so many years ago there was a great show on MTV called Sifl & Olly that had two sock puppets basically wasting 30 minutes of airtime, but they did great stuff and made me laugh hard. Well, one thing they did in particular was a bunch of songs that were hilarious. One of those songs was called “Whatever”, and it was my favorite – it involved them talking about different scenarios in which their response was “whatever”. The fact that it was sung by SOCK PUPPETS made it all the more funny. Man I loved that show.
So imagine my surprise when I see a guy and his band on David Letterman RIGHT NOW, singing a song THAT IS THE EXACT SAME THING. The guy’s name is Liam Lynch and if you can believe this – HE WAS INVOLVED WITH THE SIFL AND OLLY SHOW!
What’s even better -they are RELEASING THE SIFL AND OLLY SHOW ON DVD. They already have the unaired Season Three available and are working on Seasons One and Two. SO happy that my birthday is right around the corner – I’m all over these.
It’s the little things in life that make people happy. Sifl and Olly? The only reason I know anything about this show is because either when we first got married or when we were dating, Jaynee talked about this show a lot. Turns out, it shouldn’t have been canceled after three seasons, but three episodes. Sometimes I worry about Jaynee. *lol*
