Weight Loss Update

Thought I’d post a weight loss update. I’ve put the ticker back at the top of the front page of Cootiehog. I took it down for a while because I wasn’t losing any weight and in fact gained a few pounds back. But a couple weeks ago I got my head back in the game and have been diligently counting calories. Result? I’m back in it. I’ve readjusted my 20 pound goal to start from the weight I was at a couple weeks ago having gained a few pounds back. Since restarting I’ve lost 6.5 pounds. I’m now at the weight I was just before Disney in May. My weight is currently 35.5 pounds lower than it was in December 2007. My hope is to lose another pound before my doctor appointment on Wednesday. I’ll be quite pleased if I can do that because it’ll mean a 3-4 pound loss since my last appointment.

My hope is to be at my pre-CootieGirl pregnancy weight by Thanksgiving. I’m 13 pounds from that goal and I think it’s doable given my level of motivation right now. After that I’d like to lose another 5 pounds by the end of December. If I can accomplish those goals it will mean I was able to lose 53-54 pounds in one year. OUTSTANDING. I’d then only have 20 more pounds to lose to reach my own personal goal, and 30 pounds to reach the goal of the medical study, which ends at the end of February 2009. The doctor’s goal will be hard to reach, but I have confidence I can reach my personal goal by March 1, 2009.

So yeah, I’m full-on back into this again. Looking forward to going shopping in my closet again for our trip to New York in November for Thanksgiving.

Jaynee, I found you through Amy’s blog and thought I’d check yours out. I really like the weight loss ticker you have at the top. What a great motivator! I’m always trying to shave a few pounds myself …

Thanks for stopping by, Melissa! The ticker IS a great motivator – but can also be very depressing if it doesn’t move for any length of time.
