The drive to Virginia was completely uneventful – YAY! The kids, Cooper the Dog and I left as soon as we picked up CG from school – literally pulled out of the school parking lot at 3 p.m. and hit the road. We made decent time, despite two stops. We stopped once for some food around 5:30 p.m. and then at 8 p.m. for a potty break. We pulled into my parents’ driveway at 9:35 p.m.
Denis was about two hours behind us. We took different routes – I went 77/81/66, whereas he went 77/85/95. He pulled in at 11:30 p.m.
Today the Speaks family came over for a bit before leaving again for a pediatrician appointment for Baby Molly (who is a cutie patootie). They’ll be back in a little bit. The kids have been playing (Jesse is over here as well) and behaving nicely for the most part.
This morning we had funky pancakes for breakfast. Marmie bought this spray can batter (which was funny because I was just reading on Dispatches from the Island (Hurley on “Lost”‘s personal blog) about them. Well, Marmie whipped out her can and sprayed us some pancakes. They were…interesting. Denis liked them, but I didn’t care for them much – they were kind of bland.
I’m looking forward to the week – I literally have next-to-no plans, which is awesome.
