So since I posted about the book I finished over the weekend, my Google AdSense at the top of my blog has been advertising infidelity websites (I won’t use the buzzwords so that the ads will come back). Nice, huh? I know it’s related directly to the book I reviewed, so I moved the post date on that particular post to Saturday in an effort to get the review off the front page.
Since AdSense takes it’s cue from the front page of the blog for whatever ads it placed, I had hoped that those particular ads would disappear. Fortunately, one of them has, but the other spot still has that pesky ad. I’m posting like a mad fool in the hopes that new content will overtake the code and move on from that particular topic.
It’s the only thing I’m not happy about with AdSense – the ability to make sure certain kinds of ads DO NOT appear on a family-friendly website like this one. Oh sure, I can make sure that pr()n doesn’t show up, but social networking websites encouraging a certain non-marriage-friendly activity sadly cannot be filtered out since AdSense works on buzzwords.
It’s 7:24 and still the cheating housewives ad…but honestly, I didn’t notice the ad til you pointed it out. I usually tune out most ads.
Ick. That would really bother me, too.
At least now it seems those ads are both history.
