1) Last night as CootieGirl got into her bed she hurled all over herself, the bed and the carpet. Despite having very little for dinner (about six bites of food that I basically forced her to eat and 1/2 cup of milk that she begged to have (she’d been drinking water and apple juice all day), she managed to throw up a LOT. She looked like death warmed over as I put her in a hot bath to clean her off. She and CootieBoy bathed together while I brought out the power cleaner and went to town on the carpet and got it all up. Stripped her bed completely and made it with fresh sheets. Once done I took CB out of the tub, put in some fresh hot water and let CG continue to soak while I got CB into his jammies. Then I helped CG out and got her dried off and in fresh jammies. Marmie had recommended I make tea for CG, so I sent her downstairs while I got CB down for the night. By that time it was after 9 p.m. so CG went down very quickly and I made CG her tea. She took three sips and called it a day. We went back upstairs and after a quick phone call with Daddy she was out like a light. Didn’t wake up until this morning when she climbed into bed with me and fell asleep again.
2) Got a voicemail this morning (I guess they called while I was in the shower) from our pediatrician stating that they had a letter to give to my daycare about CootieBoy’s staph infection from a couple weeks ago. Daycare requested a letter from the pediatrician stating that it was not MRSA to put in CB’s file.
3) CootieGirl woke up with more personality this morning and actually asked for food. YAY! I thought, she’s getting better! She ate half a banana and a few sips of rooibos tea.
4) Then promptly threw up once we got back from taking CB to daycare.
5) Fortunately, I called the pediatrician and they have a spot at 3:30 p.m. for her to see a doctor. So that’s what we’re doing this afternoon.
Poor little thing. I wonder if it is one of those viruses, Rhinovirus I think, like on cruise ships where you have to scrub EVERYTHING in your house to eliminate the cause. I’ll be praying that the doctor can determine which virus it is. Keep up the fluids so she doesn’t get dehydrated.
