TV: Veronica Mars

Okay, so I don’t think I’ve ever talked about “Veronica Mars” here at Cootiehog, but after this week’s episode that had me completely riveted, I think it bears saying: “Veronica Mars” quite possibly could be the best show on TV right now.

What I like about the show is the fact that each episode has a different story, but there is also a season arc taking place. That arc is V’s secret investigation into the murder of Veronica’s best friend Lilly, who was also the sister of Veronica’s boyfriend CootieBoy.

This week’s episode in particular, “Weapons of Class Destruction”, was phenomenal as far as the arc story is concerned. From CootieBoy confronting Veronica on her investigation (and her file on CootieBoy) to Logan coming to Veronica’s “rescue” and then unexpectedly (okay, not so unexpectedly) kissing her. Holy cow!

I adore this show and I’m so happy that they recently announced they are giving it a second season (which it totally deserves). This is also a show that I’ll definitely order on DVD when it (hopefully) comes out in the future. Snappy dialogue, an adorable lead actress, a fantastic cast in general, and a fascinating storyline all come together to form a show that I’d recommend to everyone.

Don’t judge it because it is about high school – this is no crappy “OC” or whatever stupid teen soap is out there right now. This is quality tv – even the critics think so.

It’s on UPN on Tuesdays at 9 p.m. It’s tough because it’s up against The Amazing Race – but worth taping if you can.

yay! I couldn’t agree more! The dialogue is witty. All the characters are well played. There’s a story of the week, and a story of the season. Along with the fact that characters stay true to themselves while still developing.

    Amazing!!!

Plus that was the best kiss I’ve seen on TV in a LONG time. Be still my heart, I think I am in love with the jackass Logan (Jason Dohring).

A lot of people have unfairly compared this show to Buffy and it is nothing like Buffy. In fact, in a lot of ways it’s better than Buffy (certainly a better lead actress on VM vs. Buffy). But I think it’s unfair for people to say “This is the new Buffy” when it’s not…

I so agree with you. If not for TAR, I would not miss the live airing of this show. I am hoping that it will be put on DVD this summer. I am trying to set up BitTorrent so I can download the episodes.

It has seriously salved my Whedonless wounds. Without Buffy and ANGEL tv has just not been the same.
