I also had the pleasure of watching the entire second season of the BBC version of “The Office” starring Ricky Gervais. That Gervais – he’s wickedly funny. While I still much prefer the American version of the show I completely appreciate the wit of the original British production. I’ve said before that Gervais’ portrayal of smarmy inappropriate boss David Brent is much different than the feel-bad-for-him loser Michael Scott that our own Steve Carrell gives us. Doesn’t make it any less funny, though.
I adore Martin Freeman and hope that his Tim’s end doesn’t become the end for my own Jim on the American version. That would devastate me, as it did this weekend with Tim. I just wanted to give Martin Freeman a comforting hug at the end of the final episode.
