**SPOILERS AHEAD**
AI5 – I only watched the last 60 seconds of AI5 last night, but it was enough. I’m happy that it was Elliott going home. Looks like Taylor will be our new American Idol – and while I’m pleased (because I’ve always liked him), I’m still mourning the loss of Chris from last week.
TAR9 – a big WOO and HOO for the winners of TAR9! I was getting SO worried during the last few minutes of the episode, but in the end my boys came out with the winning flag combination and won the $1M. And I was very pleased with YoRay in this episode – they didn’t get stressed, they just chilled and had a good time. No, they didn’t win, but they showed that they do VERY well under pressure. As for the Frat Boys, I’m sure they’ll pop up again on some reality tv series on E! or something.
Lost – decent episode. And WOW has Walt grown up in the past 15 days. *lol* Poor Hurley. Can’t WAIT for the finale.
Invasion – so I don’t know if the show is coming back (I doubt it is), but I thought the season ended well enough. I’m glad the network let the season finish on the air instead of just taking it off and not letting us know ANYthing. Not that we know anything, since the show is still pretty ambiguous, but at least there was SOME sense of closure. Some.
“Freaks” – I Tivo’d this 1932 movie a couple weeks ago and just got around to watching it last night. The last time I saw it was when I was in college. Boy what a exploitative movie that is. For those that haven’t seen it, it centers around a circus midget named Hans who falls for and marries the normal-sized Cleopatra, the circus acrobat. She taunts and ridicules him and plots to murder him to the point where all the circus freaks decided to make HER a freak. The movie is only about an hour long, and more than a mess. What makes it annoying is the constancy of the circus music in just about EVERY SINGLE SCENE. The “freaks” in the movie are totally exploited, from the man with no legs walking around on his hands, to the man with no legs or arms who is shown lighting his own cigarette. There’s the girl with no arms who feeds herself with her feet. There are the pinheads (literally – I’m not kidding). Anyway, it’s a strange little movie that I can’t believe actually got made by a major studio (MGM).
Tell me why everyone thinks Taylor will win? She’s a much better singer and has more of the “idol” look than him?
He’s a total entertainer.
For me there’s a fake factor to Katherine that causes me not to like her as much. I appreciate her talent, but I just don’t trust that sweet image that she projects.
Taylor seems like the real deal – talented, down to earth, fun to watch on stage. I’d buy tickets to his show; I would not do that with Kat.
i’m still mourning over chris, too.
