TV: Seventh Heaven Series Finale

😥

I can’t believe there’s no more Seventh Heaven! What’s worse – I can’t believe Martin didn’t come back in the end and whisk Ruthie away from that weird Scottish waiter!!

Okay, so I have admitted on many occasion that I love Seventh Heaven. I can’t help it. It’s the epitome of hokey, hackneyed, horribly-acted tv and I LOVE IT.

I once joked that I’d love to see some Shakespeare performed by the two worst actors of all time: Drake Hogestyn from “Days of Our Lives” (right) and George Stults, who played Kevin Kinkirk on 7H (left). It would be an abomination so laughable as to go down in history, I think. :thud: And if there was ever an act-off contest, no one would win. Between George’s horrible delivery and Drake’s amazing overacting I honestly can’t tell you who is worse (okay, Drake is worse. But only by a little bit because George is pretty bad).

Back to the show, though. I’m sad that it didn’t include more of the past cast members – characters like Martin, Robbie (another fine bad actor in Adam LaVorgna), Chandler, Meredith, just to name a few. I’m also sad they didn’t do a big 2-hour finale and show a bunch of old clips. They showed a few, but not nearly enough in my book.

But I have to say I was satisfied with the ending of the show. I’m glad that Jessica Biel got over herself and did two scenes. I’m glad that Barry Watson was able to crossover from his new show and do one last goodbye.

Now I have to resist the temptation to get all 10 seasons on DVD. Because the urge is strong people. That’s some good quality craptastic television that never fails to bring a happy smile to my face when all ends up hunky-dory in the end (twins! twins! and more twins!).

Aw…this makes more sense, now that I’ve seen the finale. 🙂
And yeah, I wish it had been a longer episode, but that was a funny ending. 🙂
