TV: AI5 – Mish Mash Stylie

What a weird night on AI5 last night. Many have opined that we’ve gone a long time this season without a “wow” moment on American Idol. That moment where the winner became truly obvious. Sure, Chris has been good all season, but I’m waiting for that “OH MY GOSH HE HAS TO WIN” moment like we had with past contestants Kelly (“Stuff Like that There”) (which I immediately downloaded after it aired), Clay (“Solitaire”) (which I immediately downloaded after it aired), or Fantasia (“Summertime”) (which I didn’t download but I was pleased she reprised it later on in the series). We still didn’t get it last night – but we came pretty darn close.

Elliott’s first song was decent, but I hate that song. His second song was lovely though.
Paris did well on her first song and did okay on her second song.
Chris’ first song was excellent but his second one was a screecher and didn’t have much melody.
Katherine. Poor Katherine. Did she actually pick “Against All Odds” herself? If so, she has BAD taste. Fortunately her second performance was great.
Taylor. Lovely silver-haired Taylor! I thoroughly enjoyed both songs. Sure Taylor snuck in the Beatles – but it was really very well done. And as close to “The Moment” as we’ve had this entire season of AI5.

I predict Paris and Katherine in the bottom two, with Paris going home. She just hasn’t connected with the audience and it’s time to say bye-bye.
