Okay, so I tried signing up for last.fm in an effort to begin showing the tracks that I have on my MP3 player – but that won’t work since I don’t use WinAmp at work and don’t even have a way of uploading my MP3 player songs onto my work computer (they are picky about what software I’m allowed to load up).
Then I had the thought of just generating an old fashioned HTML file using WinAmp much like I had a long time ago on Cootiehog. But with 4400+ songs to generated a file for, it pretty much craps out WinAmp whenever I try to do it.
So now I’m in Windows Media Player, and the player has just spent 10 minutes analyzing the “My Music” folder in order to get all the tracks, and now it’s lagging like WinAmp did – bogged down with trying to even navigate and organize that many tracks. It worked okay when I only had 1,000 tracks in WMP, but I’m pushing the limits with this, I think. Uh, yeah, I just got a “program not responding” message. Harrumph.
minutes later
Okay, I may have the playlist generated via Windows Media Player. It will only have 4279 songs since some of the tracks are built-ins to the player (most of the Classical stuff came installed on the Creative Zen Touch and are not transferrable.
Ack – I don’t think it’s gonna work. ARG!!! I just want a simple HTML list of all of my songs. That’s ALL I WANT!!!!
