So this morning I had a hair/makeup appointment at my salon for Mare-Bear’s wedding which is this afternoon. I knew the hair would be fine, but I was skeptical but hopeful about the makeup woman.
Well, I was right to be skeptical. She was awful. At least, when it came to makeup. I asked for natural yet good for an evening reception, and she gave me Jersey makeup. HORRIBLE. Upon arriving home I grabbed my makeup bag and fixed it and now it looks fabulous. I’ll admit her eyeshadow was well done, but the rest of it was terrible. What a waste of money that could have been better spent elsewhere.
As for the hair, my hairdresser Tracy said she didn’t do up-dos, so I got on the phone with my sister (a self-admitted Bridezilla for her wedding at the end of the month) and asked her if she minded if I cut my hair into a bob. This way it got rid of the last remaining layers and would eliminate the ability to do an up-do. She said bob was fine. So Tracy hacked off about 3-4 inches from the bottom, getting rid of the last remaining layers. It looks healthy and cute, although it would be cuter if I didn’t have a double chin. But what are ya gonna do?
In about 5-10 minutes I’ll begin putting on all the things I’ll be wearing for the wedding except for the dress, which I’ll wait and put on when we arrive at Mare-Bear’s apartment. This way if we run late for any reason it’ll still only take me 10 minutes to get ready (dress, lipstick) once we arrive. I know the limo is picking us all up at her apartment around 2 p.m. to head to the church, and my goal is to arrive by 1:15 p.m.
So you won’t hear from me again until tomorrow, at which point I’ll report back with all the juicy details on Mare-Bear’s wedding.
Ahem.
I am not a self-admitted Bridezilla. I am trying to avoid turning into a Bridezilla. Knowing how I want my wedding to be and being organized does not make me a Bridezilla.
Mare-Bear’s wedding was fabulous, btw. :beerchug:
