I worked out twice this weekend with my friend Wendy, and plan on going back tonight for a quick hour’s workout. I didn’t go to the WW weigh-in at noon today because of work overload (I looked at my clock briefly around 11:15 a.m. and the next time I looked it was after 1 p.m.).
I don’t know why, but the workouts have been making me very tired the past few days. It did the same thing last weekend. I thought working out was supposed to get your endorphins pumping so that you’d have lots of energy? Each time I’ve worked out I’ve felt like going to bed afterwards. Of course, it could be because I worked out super-early in the morning on Saturday and Sunday.
In any event, tonight I’ll be doing an hour of treadmill, while “Heroes” is on. So it should be an easy hour and I may increase the speed and/or incline and see if I can do four miles instead of three during that hour.
You’re probably doing too much too soon. It looks like you went
from very little physical activity to 90 minutes. Start slowly –
30 minutes on the treadmill and some light weight training.
Increase your workouts by 10% weekly. Don’t burn yourself out
by doing too much too soon. You will feel the benefits, but
it takes time for your body to get used to it.
MCR – 30 of those minutes are doing very light weight training. The other hour is on the treadmill doing a medium paced walk. I’ve been keeping my heartrate in the zone that my trainer recommended for my weight loss program. I’m not SORE at all from the workouts – so I know I’m not overdoing it in that regard.
Way to go, Jaynee! Keep it up!!
Three cheers for Jaynee! Whoo Hoo!!! I know it’s hard going out at 9 p.m. instead of sitting back and watching TV. Good for you. Keep it up, sweetie.
