CootieBoy has been SO GOOD today. I do think he has a mild case of pink eye in one eye, but his spirits are amazing and he’s the mascot of The Firm after his wonderful day here. The ladies love him. *lol* He’s only had a handful of toys most of the day and yet he has played well and not caused trouble other than being a bit too curious about the printers.
He has had a bit of diarrhea today, but fortunately I stopped by the CVS on the way to work and bought supplies since I didn’t have a diaper bag (obviously, since I came from daycare). So it hasn’t been a problem as far as changing him or running out of diapers.
Food is another story. All he’s had to eat today is two bites of PopTart, two bites of fruit and two bites of bread. It’s a two-fer kind of day for him. On the other hand, he has had chocolate milk, two cans of apple juice and some hot chocolate (served cold), so he’s not lacking for drink around here. Either way, I know he’ll eat a HUGE dinner when we get home.
Mr. BIL just came out of his office a moment ago and saw one of the many coloring sheets I printed out for CootieBoy. He pointed to one and said, “Can you make sure that’s done when I get of my meeting so we can send that off to the client?” Love that guy that he’s fine with me having CootieBoy here. It helps that CootieBoy has been SO incredibly good today – if he was being a pill I’d have left a long time ago and just taken the vacation day (begrudgingly).
Right now he’s playing with a Mr. Potatohead doll in my cubicle, singing and talking to himself very happily.
Update at 5:45 p.m.: Denis came and picked up CootieBoy about 45 minutes ago. CootieBoy finished out the day like a trooper, although being quiet all day resulted in the last 20 minutes being a whirlwind as he insisted on running laps around the office. Fortunately, a lot of folks were out at that point, so he could be loud without bothering folks. As one attorney was leaving for the day she came to me and said, “You know, I was very impressed with him today – he’s a GOOD little boy and welcome back anytime.”
That made me feel great. But hopefully he won’t HAVE to come back anytime soon because I know today’s good behavior was RARE RARE RARE for it to last all day like that (seriously – he didn’t cry or shed a single tear today, didn’t misbehave AT ALL and didn’t throw a tantrum or get upset about ANYTHING).
Wow, go CootieBoy! My little one wouldn’t last more than 5 minutes.
What a blessing!
Yay!
Days like that make it bearable to live with a two year old! 🙂
