Mr. BIL just asked me if I’d be willing to work 10 a.m. – 7 p.m. next week so that he can get stuff done despite being in training every day next week. I immediately said yes. How much does that ROCK? I’ve been trying to figure out a way to volunteer to change my hours since he doesn’t get cranking until 4 p.m. anyway. This is the perfect opportunity to show him that this time is INFINITELY better than my current 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
The plus? I can go to the gym in the morning at 7 a.m. (the time CootieBoy usually wakes us up each morning), workout until 8:30 a.m., come home and get ready at my leisure and leave for work at 9:30 a.m. And at night? Home by 7:20 p.m. And with the kids staying up a bit later than usual, I still get quality time with them at night (although last night CootieGirl spent her entire “evening” (read: from 6 pm – 7:30 pm) on the computer playing games. Yes, you read that right.).
I’m hoping this trial run goes really well so that I can eventually try and get that to be a full-time change. Of course, that could all come to an end if the associate they eventually hire wants to work 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. I doubt he/she would appreciate having no admin until 10 a.m.
But we’ll see how it goes. Obviously I won’t be working late next Friday since that’s the day we leave for Scotland (I’m leaving work at 2 p.m. that day), but the rest of the week that is going to ROCK.
