Things We Did This Weekend

Saturday, we went to Baby’s R Us to pick out a stroller and baby car seat to add to our registry. We settled on the Graco Sterling Travel System. Does anyone know anything about this particular item? We’d love to get some feedback on people who have actually used it.

We liked it because the stroller was easy to fold up, seemed to fold up enough to fit in our small Corolla trunk, and the seat seemed comfortable. The last thing we need is a cranky baby because the seat is uncomfortable. I have a hard enough time dealing with a cranky wife.

On Sunday, we hung our Christmas lights outside our house (actually, I did that), while Jane mowed the front lawn. This is a new set of lights. I forget what you call them, but they are a long tube of lights encased in thick plastic. They seemed to light up fine. We can’t find the net lights that we put over the two bushes outside our front door. They’ll show up eventually.

Later, I raked the leaves to the curb. I’ll have to do that next weekend again. Then I settled in and watched some football and Jane watched something else on the tube.

Today, Jane is at her latest doctor’s appointment. Hopefully, we’ll know the sex of the baby in a few minutes. No phone call yet.

Alas, I didn’t find out the gender today – but I did hear the heartbeat. It was a strong 146 beats per minute.

We got a Graco travel system. Not that particular one, but it was Graco. We were nothing but pleased with it. Most of our baby products are by Graco and I have nothing but good things to say about them.

Jaynee, sorry you didn’t find out the gender, I know you were hoping to. 🙁

So your baby registry is complete now?

Bummer about the delay in knowing if I’m getting a niece or nephew. *sigh* I guess I’ll have to buy unisex items…

Glad to know baby CootieGirl/Owen has a strong heartbeat. How cool was it hear that?

Denis, why on earth did you not do to the Dr with Jane? Nothing cooler than hearing the heartbeat.

Tara, he’s going to go to the ultrasound with me on Nov. 29, which is the really fun day. Yesterday’s appointment was short and not worth him taking a day off from work for.

Tara, I’ll listen to the heartbeat at the end of this month, as Jane said. I wish I had a cushy government job that allowed me to take off whenever I wanted to. No such luck.

Well in my “cushy goverment job” I can’t just take off when I want so you are not missing much there…no need to get insulted I meant no harm. jeesh.

That wasn’t a strike against you. That was a strike against cushy jobs all across the world. U.S. government or not. I didn’t mean to imply that you were able to take off whenever you wanted. Can you? If so, sign me up. And Jane too. Where are some new Grace pics?

I am sucking at proud mama these days I have film that needs to be developed and she doesn’t even look like that anymore!! You will see her in the flesh on her 4 month birthday! But I will get these pictures developed this week I swear!

Okay, you’re off the hook for now. And a baby in the flesh is worth two in the bush. Or something like that.

*lol* Tara, I took his cushy gov’t job reference to be against my sister, who DOES have a government job and DOES seem to take off work whenever she wants, despite only working there since June…

Yes, she was who I had in mind. I would have said a cushy city job if I meant your job. *lol*
