Today the office is giving a baby shower for one of the higher ups who adopted a baby last month. The awesome thing? The lunch started at noon and as of 1:30 p.m. the party is still going strong as she opens up the gifts. She’s only about halfway through at this point. And no one seems to care that half the company is crammed into a public area (as opposed to a conference room) to watch her open the gifts.
I don’t know if it’s because it’s close to Christmas so things are slack, or whether all showers are like this, but today has been an awesomely work-light day around here.
Update at 1:56 p.m.: The presents are done and the party has now moved to the kitchen for cake.
I so need to work at your company when I have my next kid.
