Today we went to the zoo down in Columbia. We got there around noon and stayed about 3 1/2 hours. It was kind of like speed-zooing – we zipped through the exhibits and the only one that we really spent a lot of time in was the aquarium. CootieBoy and CootieGirl love fish and the zoo’s aquarium features some really big tanks with really big fish.
It was a nice trip if only because it was “free” for us. When we visited the zoo last month we signed up for a family membership which allows us to go as many times as we want for a year. Given how much the kids enjoy it, we’ll definitely get our money’s worth out of it. The zoo is only an hour or so away so we’re thinking we’ll go back again in November when it’s nice and cool. Today it was cooler than when we went last month, but still a hot day which wiped us out.
