Keith, our new favorite handyman, arrived with his son this morning around 8:30 a.m. and immediately got to work. Together they finished the kitchen floor, installed the deadbolt on the garage entry door and hung the back patio storm door.
Grand total for their services? Less than $500 – a BARGAIN for two guys to do so many projects AND volunteer to come back FOR FREE anytime we need service or see a problem with the items they installed yesterday and today. Our two storm doors are awesome (I can’t wait for cool weather so I can get a cross breeze going through this house and save on the electric bill). The deadbolt on the garage entry door is comforting to have. The foyer chandelier is a tremendous improvement on the firehazard of a 1980s-style chandelier we had in place before. And lastly, the kitchen floor – well, that’s just a phenomenal improvement.
Although it just struck me that we were going to have him look at the water connection to the fridge to see why it sprung a leak, but he left without doing that. But that’s okay – we’ve lived this long without an automatic icemaker, we can continue living without it.
