The Weekend, Part I

This weekend wasn’t really a vacation, but it was in the sense that it was completely blissful on all fronts.

Friday afternoon I left work early and was able to go home and clean, pack, clean Mr. Fish’s tank, and run errands before my mom arrived at 4 p.m. Denis arrived home at 4:30 p.m. and after quickly running through the ropes with Marmie we hit the road for the airport. I had checked in online earlier in the day and since we only had one carry-on bag between the two of us we quickly went through security and got to our gate in plenty of time. The plane was SMALL – freakishly small. But the flight was short and we landed in no time, got our rental car and checked into our motel. Because we wanted a cheap weekend we rented a compact car (but got a free upgrade because when we got there no cars other than full-size were clean) and stayed at a Motel 6. The motel was clean and had a bed, so there were no complaints.

We went to bed relatively early, anxious for Saturday to arrive so that we could go see our land!
