Okay, so since the kids are coming with us on our North Carolina vacation we realized that traveling 4-6 hours each of three days to NC and the same coming back is a LONG time for a 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 year old. Since our van doesn’t have an installed overhead DVD player we opted to get a portable one, which is significantly cheaper.
Today I ordered a Toshiba 7″ portable DVD player from Amazon. I did some price checking and found that since Amazon didn’t charge tax or shipping the price ended up being the same as if I were to order it from another electronics website I looked into.
It’s an expensive splurge but one that will pay for itself in spades if it keeps our kids from getting bored and restless during our vacation.
What, does that mean no “counting cows” game? Or “I spy with my little eyes” game? Come on! Wimp.
😉
Oh we won’t have DVDs running the whole time. We’ll do a bit of everything – naps, food, dvds, games, singing, etc. My plan is that whichever parent is NOT driving will sit in the back with the kids to help entertain them.
Hey, that’s a great idea to have the non-driving parent back with the kids! Since you guys already know where you’re going, that parent doesn’t need to help navigate. 🙂
