We had intentions of going to the zoo yesterday, but between sleeping late and cold weather (despite the sun), we opted to stay in. Denis, CootieBoy and I batted around a balloon in our foyer – no joke – for about 45 minutes. Our goal? Have the balloon hit the ceiling in the two-story foyer. No easy feat with a half-empty balloon. Denis finally did it – twice in a row! – but the closest I came was about 2 feet too low. Surprisingly fun, and CootieBoy had a blast playing with us.
CootieGirl’s main source of entertainment was the computer – she spent at LEAST 2-3 hours on the computer playing games at Playhouse Disney. She’s quite the computer whiz and will have carpal tunnel in about two years at this rate. While CootieGirl was surfing, CootieBoy konked out on the sofa for a four hour nap. Not even joking – the kid was dead out on the sofa and didn’t wake up no matter how loud we were. It was nice to be able to just sit and watch basketball for a few hours with cb sleeping and CootieGirl on the computer.
I ended up going to bed early (for me) at about 10:15 p.m. I was just done for the day and couldn’t hold my eyes open anymore. It’s a good thing I went to bed early, too, since I had to be up at 6:30 a.m. to get ready for church.
Church went surprisingly well despite my hesitation about the perforamnce of the songs. The band came together and did well. I still disagree with the speed with which George puts songs in the service, but it went without a hitch this morning.
After an hour at the park followed by a very messy lunch at home, we gave both the kids a nice long bubble bath. While they were bathing I put up the border on the “Nemo’s aquarium” wall in CootieBoy’s room, and we hung the two Nemo pictures over his bed. I know CootieBoy doesn’t care, but I’m glad his room looks more “finished” now with the pictures up and the border on. The border (removable) was really easy to put on and I can’t even tell you how great it is to have a removable border up – if CootieBoy hates Nemo in three months I just take it down in 10 seconds! Voila! I thought I ordered enough of the border to do ALL of CootieBoy’s room, but I didn’t, so we’ll just leave it on the aquarium wall and not do the others.
So now the kids are watching Noggin while Denis sits in the living room reading the newspaper and I watch basketball. I was going well in the pool until Wisconsin just lost – that ruined one of my sheets on which I had them going to the final four. But I’m not completely out of it – I still have hope that at least ONE of us will bring home the $300 prize in a couple weeks.
How was/is your weekend?
I think those weekends where you have nothing planned are the best. Yours sounded great, and I LOVED how you guys batted around the balloon – sounds fun!!
