The Day Started Out Poorly…But Never Got Worse

So, nothing says, “Time to get out of bed” like seeing your Toddler Son grab your glasses and proceed to rip them to shreds.

Yes, CootieBoy broke my glasses.

And he didn’t even do it in a tantrum. He was actually in the process of handing them to me when he decided to open them up for me. But he “opened” them the wrong way, proceeding to pulversize them and send one lens a couple feet away.

Fortunately, I have contact lenses, so I didn’t run around blind all day. However, they are three-year-old contacts lenses, possible four. But, since I’ve always been diligent about wearing my glasses whenever I’m awake, they were in surprisingly good condition. And the prescription wasn’t so old that I couldn’t see.

So today I wore the lenses for a good nine hours and the only reason I took them out is because we took the kids to a horse farm and it took a toll due to the sunshine and the dust flying about. Since they are now out, I will be Squinty Girl the rest of the evening as I try to focus. Good thing we have a large screen tv. Although not being in focus also causes me to lose concentration, so I may be repeatedly asking Denis, “What did he say?” during the movie we plan on watching tonight.

I guess it’s kind of pathetic that I also lose concentration when watching TV shows, but not because I’m trying to focus on the screen.
