Here’s a pic of the (messy) tv room with the curtains up. The picture is a bit dark, but you get the point. The windows are still a bit boring – now that the curtains are in place, I’m thinking I will have them meet in the middle and tie them back to the sides to make it more visually appealing. I’d just get some decorative red rope to tie them back. But for now they are an improvement over the plain windows we had before and I really like it (kudos to Marmie for finding these curtains at Bed Bath & Beyond)!
It’ll look even better once that fireplace wall has been painted and the scroll picture rematted and reframed in a bolder frame.
Hardly looks messy to me – looks homey and inviting. Lovely!!
I really like the look of having them hang straight ~ it’s a more casual look, in keeping with a Family room. I also think you might consider having the additional panels on the other windows that will give it more of a statement. In addition, I can still sew some gathered rod covers for the spaces in-between ~ it would probably take the yardage from one panel to make that happen. What’s left can be used for a pillow. D, just ONE pillow, or how ’bout new pillows for the theater chairs? 😉
Marmie – could I get away with using a SINGLE panel in the middle of the larger set of windows, instead of one for each individual window?
