Last night I was afraid to go to bed – afraid that my supreme headstuffiness would keep me awake all night as it did the night before. I waited until 12:15 a.m. and then opted to go picking through the various crap under the bathroom sink to find some decongestant. I found some Tylenol Allergy Sinus medication and quickly downed a couple pills. About 30 minutes later I could breathe freely and went to bed.
Slept most of the night until CootieBoy awoke at 6:30 a.m. and once again joined us in bed (it was cute the first couple of times, but now it has to stop since I don’t have to get up for work until 7:45 a.m.). As I laid in bed trying to ignore the ragamuffin child crawling all over me I heard Anne Curry on the Today Show interviewing someone about Autumn Allergies. And I thought, “Dang, that’s what I have – this is no head cold. It’s ALLERGIES.” Which sucks because that means it may not be over in a few days in this stays-hot-til-October environment.
And while we on the subject of our new location, can I just tell you that the spiders down here are HUGE? We’ve had three or four of them since we moved into the apartment and they have all been about the size of a 50-cent piece. BIG. But fortunately they are very slow moving so they’ve been easy to kill. But GROSS. You remember how I told you that we had a slight gap between the door jamb and the front door? One crawled right in through that gap the other night. Just waltzed right in like it owned the place. *shiver*
Sounds like a good enough reason to move back to nonj! Fat chance, eh?
Welcome to the South! They grow ’em big down here, and there are more of them, too. Not only spiders…there are big wood roaches living in the woods next to our house. One waltzes in occasionally too. I think I prefer the spiders.
No, I can take a wood roach – they don’t scare me a bit. But since I’m arachniphobic I have a definitely problem with spiders.
