So you know how I said that we’re saving up so we can go cash-only at Disney in May? Guess what we got in the mail yesterday.
A check for $975.03.
I KNOW!!! Because of the recent change in SC property tax law, we ended up with a significant overage in our escrow account. So we got a refund.
We had a few options of what we could do with it – 1) cash it, 2) apply it to the next 12 months of mortgage payments which would reduce it by about $75 each month, 3) apply it directly to the principal on our mortgage, or 4) use it to make a general mortgage payment (as opposed to paying extra principal). After a very brief discussion, we decided to deposit it into our savings account and use it for Disney (minus $97.50 which goes to tithing, of course).
I’m very excited, because basically we now have all our park tickets for the ENTIRE WEEK completely covered. Anything I earn from here on out is strictly spending money (the timeshare is already paid for). YAY!!!
Awesome!! You guys are going to have such a great time, and all the better that you’ll be doing it without plastic money!
God is so awesome!
I love it! Enjoy!
