Just read this on Yahoo News:
WASHINGTON – The nation’s unemployment rate shot up to 6.4 percent in June, the highest level in more than nine years, in an economic slump that has cost nearly a million jobs in the last three months.
Yahoo News Story: Jobless Rate Hits 6.4 Pct., 9-Year High
I need to start a column on this site entitled George Bush Stole the Election, and add all my comments on why G.W. is bad for this country. The Internet isn’t big enough for all the news.
Okay, you right-wingers, bring it on! Oh, it’s already been broughtin’.
get ready for all those nast right winger comments….. just wanted to say that I am canadian and totally in agreement with you. However, I do love Dubya for one thing… the US economy is so crappy right now, the Canadian dollar has be sta3edily climbing since the war and is at a 15 year high right now. So re-elect him people, go ahead, it’s never been better for us north of the border, even if he’ won’t come on an official visit!
And I guess you don’t want to blame Bloomberg or Pataki for NY’s problems, seeing as they are a more localized reason?
BEcause bear in mind some OTHER parts of the country are doing all right – NY and CA are suffering the most because of the Silicon Alley fallout. How is that GEORGE’S fault?
Oooh, Jaynee made a political statement. š And a very good point as well.
Unemployment is just one of many factors when you look at the economy. And did you read the entire article?
“Another factor behind the increase in the overall civilian unemployment rate was the increase in the number of people seeking work in June. Optimism about an economy rebound led over 600,000 people to resume their search for work.”
I’m not surprised to hear that it jumped in June, there’s a new crop of college grads in the marketplace looking for jobs as well.
The economy is in recovery, the tax cuts will help businesses keep revenue that can be used to hire more people.
Well, I am one of those recent college grads looking for a job. Want to hire me? I promise to work hard for you…
Because everything is George’s fault. He’s in command, he should take the heat and the fall. When I’m out of work, I’m blamming George and Pataki and Bloomberg and all the rest of the evil Republicans. *lol*
It is not W’s fault. When Dad lost his job before going to his present one, it would have been ridiculous to blame Clinton, even if we couldn’t stand him.
