Testing The New Template

Tell me what you think of this possible new format for Cootiehog. It’s not the format I was gushing about the other day – I downloaded that one and it is all kinds of messed up. The creator had the wrong files in the zipfile and it’s not worth the hassle of trying to contact her since her website hasn’t been updated in over a year.

So this one was something I made up on my own. I started surfing through stock.xchng which has some awesome photos that you can use for free. I saw several great simple photos of hands and decided to use them, and then incorporated the pencil into it since the main header graphic had a pencil.

Any ideas? Things you’d change? Opinions?

Update at 9:50 a.m.: Per Jen’s comment (which I agreed with), I’ve gotten rid of some of the pencils on the right and grouped the menus together in categories (i.e., all movie menus, all book menus, all website specific menus). Less pencils, more open space. Better?

I like it! But then I’ve always had an odd love of writing implements…

It’s very nice, in my opinion.

I like it, but there’s way too much of the pencil in your sidebar. That is distracting.

That big fist with the pencil in the hand in each entry scares me. It’s so big. Not necessary. Otherwise, it’s fine. Not really a new design, just a replacement of graphics. As long as you like it, go with it.

Oh, yeah, Jaynee, you need to check your gmail account more regularly now that I am forbidden to send personal emails to your work account.

I really like your old retro look much better. The fisheye lens photos of fists is disturbing to me. The retro look is much more unique and family focussed. Just my :2cents:

I like that the pencil fist looks like it’s going to come out of the computer screen to write on me. 🙂 I like the white background. The overall effect is whimsical…but I do feel more warm-fuzzy about the retro style already here.
