So last night I came home and found out that my neighbor was having a garage sale today. I quickly pulled up a bunch of boxes from the basement and Denis and went from just adding a couple things to Birgit’s stuff to setting up shop in our own driveway.
I actually had Synergy this morning, so I started late, around 9:30 a.m. As I was pulling out the boxes people were walking up and just rifling through them before I could even set stuff out. I had already made $11 before I even had my last box out.
I stayed out there from 9:30 a.m. until about 2 p.m. and ended up making $73. Not bad considering I didn’t even really have anything good out there. Birgit and my other neighbor Lydia decided that towards the end of the summer we’re all going to do one together – this gives Denis and me more time to really sift through our stuff, organize the garage and get EVERYthing out that we want to sell.
Then once I was done and inside enjoying my cereal (breakfast was at 2:10 p.m. today) I figured it was time to count up the money in our change can. So once Denis got home I lugged it over and had Commerce Bank tally it up. Another $60.
So, with that $133 Denis and I are going to have a lavish lunch and movie on our anniversary, which is coming up in about a week and a half. I’m taking the day off, so while the kids are in daycare we’ll go to a nice place for lunch then go see a movie in the actual theater. If we time it right I’ll actually be able to take a short NAP after that before the kids come home from daycare!
It’s now 3 p.m. and I’m exhausted. I’m about to go take a shower and then I’ll pass out on the sofa if the kids are willing to entertain themselves for a bit.
