So we have about 15″ of snow and it’s still coming down. Needless to say church was cancelled, Mr. Russell’s flight was cancelled, and any thought of having a sane quiet day was cancelled.
In the past two hours since the kids woke up we’ve been running around the house and playing, making breakfast(french toast, eggs, bacon & sausage), baking sweets for snacking on later and changing lots of weird looking diapers. It’s as though the kids ate Crayolas yesterday with the technicolors going on today. Very strange.
Mr. Russell called me about 1/2 an hour ago to ask me what he should do about his travel. Uh…it’s SUNDAY, dude. I don’t work on Sundays. I basically told him he needs to call Orbitz himself and find out what he needs to do to get on a later flight. I think he won’t be going anywhere until tomorrow, but that’s me. Maybe he’ll get lucky and catch an evening flight if the snow stops and the airports can dig out. But I doubt it.
Denis wants to take the kids out later in the snow. CootieGirl announced she doesn’t like snow, to which Denis responded, “Good, cuz starting next year you won’t have deal with it much anymore!” This will be CootieBoy’s first really good experience with deep powdery snow. It’ll come up to his shoulder in the backyard because of the drifts we have!
One question: WHY couldn’t this storm wait ONE MORE DAY?
“Why couldn’t the storm wait one more day?” What, like tomorrow is going to be any better? Do you really think with 15″ and more to come you’re going to be able to get out to work? Enjoy the day with your family!
Actually, the roads will be pretty clear tomorrow. Jaynee thinks they’ll start her day late, but she’ll need to go to work, but you never know.
Pictures of the kids in the snow, please?
Yes, please!
