**WARNING – Potty training talk in this post! Move along if you have no interest!**
For the past few weeks CootieGirl has regressed a bit. She is completely potty-trained but after going MONTHS AND MONTHS with no nighttime accidents, she has now had 7-8 accidents since the beginning of September. This morning at around 4:30 a.m. she came into my room and announced she had wet the bed. Second night in a row. I had her change clothes and crawl in the bed with me since I didn’t feel like getting up. She immediately curled up under the covers as I told her to get out of bed if she finds she has to pee again. I don’t make her feel bad about it – I just say, “These things happen,” but it’s starting to get annoying. When I did finally wake up I dumped her bed linens into the washer.
CootieBoy is still not potty-trained, and has almost no interest in it. However, yesterday when we woke up for the day I saw his pull-up was dry, so I had him sit on the potty and after a few minutes he did what he needed to do. This morning the daycare owner said that he can’t move up to the next class until he is potty trained. That’s a bummer because physically and cognitively he NEEDS to be in the next room up.
I think we must take control of Cootieboy’s potty training instead of him controling us and make him use the potty. After a week or two, he should be potty trained.
As far as Cootiegirl goes, she might be reacting to you and me being away from home for days at a time and/or me not going as easy as I need to regarding the whinning. I will definitely change my tactic on the latter. Plus, I don’t think I’ll be traveling for the rest of the year. That should help.
Beau’s SIL got her son potty trained in a weekend or a week. Either way it was, she pretty much focused her time on getting him trained to go potty on the potty within a short time frame. It can be done.
