About an hour ago I started to get very nauseated (nauseous?). It started out of the blue and I felt awful. The med tech warned me that some people get nauseous taking the medication, but didn’t say that it was required to be taken with food. I took it this morning with no food, and felt fine until around noon. I did try and eat some oatmeal around 11 a.m. but took one bite and threw it out – it was AWFUL. After another hour of nausea I went upstairs and quickly heated up my lunch for the day. I almost immediately felt better.
People are SO gonna think I’m pregnant if this continues to get worse as I up the meds over the next few weeks. I’ve tried to let a few people know about the study, but didn’t want to announce to the whole world, “Hey, I’m on meds for the next 12 months which might make me throw up!”
So lesson learned: Have a bowl of cereal in the morning before taking the meds.
Other lesson learned: Microwaved oatmeal sucks.
maybe your pregnant?
*lol* I’m not. I’m forbidden from getting pregnant while on the study. and besides that, I’m adamantly against having a third child.
Re: Instant Oatmeal… I know you likely won’t try them, but the fruit + cream flavors are the best. Instant also tastes a LOT better if you make it with milk instead of water. And you need to let it sit for a few minutes after taking out of the microwave to let the oatmeal cool and set, so it’s not a watery disgusting mess.
How about Bran Flakes instead? Healthy (relatively) too!
Jean – I WISH my oatmeal had been watery paste. I ended up with a solid mass that could have been used to put up a brick wall.
MB – I do like bran flakes, and again it’s that whole “wake up 10 minutes earlier to make breakfast” kind of thing. Or bring in milk and a box of cereal to the office.
When I make instant oatmeal, I don’t actually put the oatmeal into the microwave. I just heat the water, then add it to the oats and let them do their thing while I stir for a bit. Then I add my butter/sugar and eat. Much, much better.
I agree with Jen ~ I add boiling water to the oatmeal and stir a bit, add butter and sugar and eat. Actually, with the “Maple and Brown sugar” flavored oatmeal I don’t have to add anything so it is super fast and easy. Not the best health-wise though. Honestly, I tried going back to the healthier, old fashioned oats recently and they were awful! I wish I could get the “porridge” we had in England which was delish. Must check the British Pantry.
?? LOL I can’t believe you made Oatmeal the way you did If am reading this right. Did you add the Oatmeal and the water together before heating it? If so then…
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Who does that? LOL
Ew. Oatmeal = yucky. Don’t eat it!!! hee-hee
nauseated = you feeling queasy
nauseous = making other people queasy 🙂
