Shortest Rehearsal Ever

Last night our band rehearsal was very short. I was home before 9 p.m. and the practice was in CHARLOTTE. That’s saying a lot. I got there right at 7:15 p.m. as the band was finishing their set up (I’m only doing background vocals this week). We have a guest leader this week since we are in the process of hiring a worship leader for our campus. After a quick round of introductions we got to work. We’re only doing three songs this week – no lead-in song at all, and the guest leader is doing an acoustic solo for the offertory. We literally sang each song through twice and then headed out. It was AWESOME. *lol*

Of course, it’ll balance out on Sunday when I’ll be required to be at the theater at 7:00 a.m. for setup. Ouch. Just typing that is painful. This Sunday is our first 2-service Sunday, so I’ll be sticking around for both services. I think I’m going to sing in the first one and then leave. Denis is doing childcare for the early service, but attending the second one. So I’ll just go hang out during the first service and sit in the second service with him. The kids will just be in Sunday School for both services.

I was originally scheduled to sing next Sunday as well, but we’re having a DIFFERENT guest worship leader next week and he has requested a scaled-back team – no keyboard, and only one background singer. So Katie got tagged for that and I get the week off!
