Selling My Stock – No, Not That Kind of Stock

I’ve decided to go ahead and shut down my blanket-making business. Oh, I’ll keep the domain for a while, as well as my Etsy shop (I’m thinking of using my Etsy shop to sell my vintage Fiestaware). And I’ll continue to do custom orders as they come in. And I’ll continue to mess around with sewing and things like that. But I’m going to go ahead and close it down officially – including informing SC of the dissolution of the sole proprietorship company I formed in March 2007.

So today I put up a post at my mommies forum inviting the women to buy my fabric that I no longer need. Within a few minutes I had a private message from one of the moms saying she’d buy ALL of it. ALL OF IT? I was flabbergasted, and warned her that I have a LOT of fabric.

Tonight I laid out all the fleece I’d be willing to part with, holding back some for special projects or future gifts I might make. All total to sell? I have 70+ yards that I can sell this woman. SEVENTY YARDS. Wow that’s an amazing amount of fleece fabric.

Just now I messaged her with my suggested price for the 70+ yards, giving a nice bulk discount that will still allow me to make back the cost I paid for the fabric (obviously I lose out on what I paid in tax and shipping, but at this point I’d rather just be rid of the fabric). I’m hoping she’ll go for it because that would allow us to bring in the handyman to do the projects around the house that we need done (installing the storm doors on the front and back, additional deadbolt locks on all exterior doors, hanging the chandelier that we bought over two months ago to replace the broken one hanging in our foyer). I’m REALLY hoping this woman says yes to buying it all. That would be an amazing answer to prayer because after the expense of fixing our A/C this week, we didn’t have the money to bring in the handyman for these projects.

I’ll let you know what she says. I hope it’s “I’ll take it!”
