Scotland: Days 5 and 6

Tuesday, March 6:
After the long day in Inverness the day before, we opted to have Tuesday be a relatively quiet day. We had a quiet morning followed by a short hour’s drive to Perth where we grabbed some lunch in a pub before seeing a movie. Perth was a nice little city, and along the way we passed some amazing scenery. Once the movie was over we headed back to the timeshare, buying groceries at the little store nearby and made dinner in the suite’s kitchen.

Wednesday, March 7:
Another quiet morning, which was glorious and in many ways the parts of the vacation I loved the best because it let me be at rest. Around 1 p.m. we drove to Callender, which was 20 miles from the timeshare. What a quaint little town! Exactly what I pictured Scotland to be in every way. Since most restaurants close at 3 p.m. to get ready for dinner service at 5:30 p.m., we had to go into a bar for some food, but ended up meeting a very nice bartender and a couple other locals. We all had a nice chat talking about the differences between America and the United Kingdom, and I think we all left with nice impressions of each other. We did some more shopping and then drove over to Doune, which has Doune Castle – the location where “Monty Pyton & The Holy Grail” was filmed. However, we got there ten minutes after it closed (this country keeps early hours). Denis did take some pictures of the outside though, and then we headed back to Aberfoyle and once again made our own dinner at the timeshare.
