Saving for the Vacation

We have just over 110 days until our vacation to Disney. The kids are SUPER excited. I’ve been slowly thinking of ways to raise money for this trip.

I began having $20/month moved from our checking account into our savings account. It’s small enough that it doesn’t break the bank, but after only a few months I’ve already got $100 in there. I have $90 in PayPal just waiting to be moved over, with another $200 due to be paid out from PPP over the next few weeks. That gives me about $400 in there with no real effort thus far.

My blanket website was refused by PPP because I didn’t have 20 posts in the past three months. November was a sparse posting month over there. So for the next seven days I’ll be posting once a day over there and then I’ll resubmit the site to get it approved so I can do PPP over there for some additional income.

Also, I’m due an affiliate check from BlueHost (the most awesome hosting company in the world – see the link below in my sidebar) in the next couple of weeks which will go right into my savings account. And I’m going to request the balance of my money at Epinions in order to deposit into my savings account as well. It’s all small amounts – $20 here, $35 there, $65 over there – but it’ll all add up and it’ll be nice to keep the credit cards in my wallet and pay cash during the entire vacation.

I’ve got two open houses coming up in the spring. I’m hoping to sell enough to sock that money away for the Disney trip.

And I think we’ll get a good tax refund. We just need to do our taxes to find out how much.

And then there’s the rebate that might come soon enough if the Senate votes quickly. If not, then we’ll use that for the California trip in August.
