So today was a rough day at work. I had a lot of real work I had to do and yet everyone expected me to still participate in the “7 Habits” class. I ended up doing both – I spent the early morning in the class, then worked from 10:30am – 1:00pm, then stayed in the class until 3:00 p.m. then worked til the end of the day.
Mr. Russell is out of the office at HQ tomorrow and Friday AND traveling to Buffalo on Monday so I HAD to get his stuff done that he needed to take with him for both off-site meetings. If I had stayed in the “7 Habits” class they would NOT have gotten done.
Besides that, I ended up needing to work late tonight. However, the weather had other plans as it blew the power out of our building around 5:30 p.m. Mr. Russell and I paused in our work for about five minutes, willing the lights to come back on, when finally he said, “Well, we might as well go home.”
The rain was SO hard coming down that traffic, which normally trucks along at an even-paced 60 mph during 85% of my commute, was down to 2 mph in some spots and the fastest speed I got up to was about 40 mph once I got off of Route 80. Listening to traffic reports all the way home I think it was a miracle that there were no accidents on my route – every other route had multiple accidents on it. Mine didn’t and it STILL took me 90 minutes to get home.
