Picture Rails

In answer to Kate’s question from a comment in a previous post, I submit the following picture:

See that white railing that is about 6″ below the ceiling throughout the room? That’s a picture rail. You use that rail with special hooks and wire to hang your pictures so that you never have to hammer a hole in your wall. This is what they used in “olden times” to hang pictures.
