It has been said that art should never be done to match the furniture. And for the most part I totally agree with that statement – art should be uniquely done, without regard for the surroundings in which it will end up.
However, in deciding to get original artwork for our living room, I didn’t want a piece of artwork that would clash in that room, given that it’ll be the main focal point of the room above a very specifically green sofa.
Enter AmyKay, an eBay artist who does some work that I absolutely love. After emailing with her she agreed to do an original piece for me – a piece based on another one she had done, but using…wait for it….my exact colors in my living room.
She emailed me last night to tell me that it was done, and ready for shipping upon my approval. I immediately emailed her back and said, “I APPROVE! I APPROVE!”
This multi-panel piece will go in our living room, above the new sofa. Each painting is 16″x22″ so the entire thing is nice and big. It will be the main focal point in the room and I’m so excited about it. Once they arrive that room will be completely DONE (well, except for a new coffee table, but we have something to use “in the meantime” until I figure out what I want).
LOVE it!
Looks fantastic. I can’t wait to see it “live” in the room.
I guess now we have to put in lighting that will highlight the new artwork.
How about this for lighting:

It could plug into the wall next to the bookcase and provide ample lighting. Thus no need to INSTALL overhead lighting.
Very nice!! I like. đŸ™‚
