Party Went Well

The party last night went well, despite only have 10 people in attendance. Food was aplenty (as always we made too much – cooking for about 20 people as opposed to 10; along our normal routine of cooking for 50 people when we expect 30). The game itself was lightning fast (maybe 15 minutes?) with only minimum of stealing. Actually, the stuff I picked got stolen twice. I first opened an iron rooster doorstop, which our friend Anne stole. Then I opened a fourpack of really cute Christmas mugs – I wouldn’t have minded keeping those, but Amy stole from me (and I have a sneaking suspicion that she brought them to the party, so I suppose she really likes them). My third gift that I opened in the game was the winner in my eyes – a real bowling pin! I LOVE IT! And the bonus was that it came with a coupon for three free games. My friend Marty also got a bowling related gift with a pass for three free games, so it looks like our two families have to go out for a bowling night sometime soon! Denis ended up with a Rubik’s cube as his gift – needless to say that will be regifted somehow.

It was a short night compared to past years – this despite putting on the Christmas episode of last season’s “The Office” to watch in it’s entirety (I showed a clip during the party to explain the White Elephant game to those who had never played before). The last guest left around 10:45 pm (I think).

All in all a successfull evening, and we look forward to next year’s bash – we hope to double our numbers and get 20 people in the door next year.

OK, can you blame me for wanting the mugs?? The last gift was ours too and Scott might have killed me had I actually stolen the box full of talking stuffed animals for the girls lol.

We had a great time and the food was awesome. Still can’t get over you made all that.

No, I don’t blame you for taking the mugs back! They were very cute! And we laughed after you left because it reminded us of a scene later on in the episode of “The Office” that we watched when Kevin stole back the footbath that he brought to the gift swap.
