Ouch! Tae Bo Hurts

So this morning was Synergy, and oh my word it was painful. this morning we did Tae Bo for the first time. It was only a 20 minute workout but I haven’t been this sore in a LONG LONG time. It was the 20-minute basic workout but it was NOT basic by any stretch of the word.

We actually did the 20-minute One Mile workout by Leslie Sansone’s Walk Away the Pounds as a lead-in. Then we put in Mr. Blanks’ tape. And for the next 20 minutes it was complete pain and humiliation. The six of us had to stretch, kick, punch and basically jump around doing moves we have never done before.

Needless to say it was slow, and sweaty. But we were all excited when it was done and I think they’ll all be back on Monday night to do it all again! I just hope I’m not as exhausted as I was this morning – it was HARD doing some of those kicks that Billy did with no effort at all. But I have a feeling by the time we’ve been doing the workout for five or six weeks that we’ll be pros and will have no problem keeping up with him. I just hope that the women keep coming and that they are encouraged despite the fact that it was really hard to get through. I think leading in with the 20-minute walk was a good idea. We ended up with a total workout of about 40 minutes, which is what we’ve been averaging.

I can’t wait for spring, though, when we can get out there and actually enjoy the sunshine and have more people come. I may have said this before, but I plan on inviting the men to join us in the spring with the walks at the local park. And then, as I’ve also mentioned before, I plan on signing up both men and women to do some fun runs or walks in Manhattan.

I actually got this year’s schedule of runs and walks in Manhattan and have marked a few that I think will be itneresting. Especially the ones that allow kids to participate – we have such a young church that I know the families will enjoy taking their kids to Manhattan and Central Park to enjoy being in the city. It seems that a lot of NJ folks hardly ever make it into the city. Since I schlep there everyday it’s no big deal for me – but it can be an adventure for all the other folks who never take the opportunity to come into the city.

And that’s all I have to say about that. Lots more to talk about – I actually have done well on the weight loss plan I have. As of this morning I’ve lost over 10 pounds! yippee!!! This workout thing is really helping me get fit again. Having two kids takes a toll and a women’s body but I’m slowly reclaiming it back.
