On Washing Clothes

So I love our new washer and dryer. Our clothes haven’t smelled this clean in MONTHS. It’s joyous.

Only a few negatives:

1) The doors on the dryer and washer are next to each other, so they bang together when both open – it also means that you have to lift the clothes over the doors to go from washer to dryer. A little annoying, but I can live with it for clean clothes. But in the next house? I’ll be sure to have the water and gas running left to right so that the doors can open opposite each other.

2) The wash takes a LONG time. I had read reviews of the Bosch Nexxt washer saying that the loads take a REALLY long time. And they do. One load took over an hour last night. But again – my clothes have never smelled so clean since we moved down here. And what’s an hour? No biggie.

3) I thought the dryer came with a dryer rack, but there wasn’t one in there. I have to call to find out of that was an extra that had to be purchased. But I’m pretty positive that was supposed to come with it.

The positives:

1) Those things are QUIET. I mean – amazingly quiet to the point where I went in there a couple times to make sure they were running. And they were!

2) The dryer drum is HUGE (and really shiny, for some reason).

This morning I put stuff in the dryer and then towel-dried the washer. I’ve been told that with front-loaders, if you don’t wipe them down after the last load that they can start to smell moldy. So I will keep a towel in there specifically for wiping down the washer after the last load.

So after three loads of laundry (and two more to go), I can honestly say that I really like the Bosch Nexxt washer/dryer set. Good purchase!
