Last night we ended up with a Family Bed going. CootieBoy came in around 1:30 a.m. because his pull-up had sprung a leak. So after getting him changed he couldn’t use his now-wet bed, so he climbed in with me. I noticed that Denis wasn’t up yet, so I knew he was most likely passed out on the recliner downstairs where I had left home a couple hours prior. Then about an hour later CootieGirl came in and asked if she could sleep with us. I said yes, and she climbed in, too. But she noticed that Denis wasn’t in the bed and said, “Where’s Daddy?” I told her he was downstairs and she promptly got out of bed, went downstairs, and told Denis to come upstairs. When he climbed into bed it was all four of us in a row, jockeying for space (a king-sized bed gets VERY small with two adults and two kids) and finally passing out for a few more hours of sleep.
So today the kids are going to a birthday party for one of the kids at their daycare. CB is excited because he wasn’t originally invited since it’s a girl from CG’s class. However, the girl’s mom called me yesterday and said that there was a 25-kid count for the party and only 17 were coming. So she invited CB to come to the party as well. I thought that was very nice of her to do that, and CB is very excited about going.
Now, *I’m* excited because I’m finally getting my hair cut today. I’m long over due (it hasn’t been cut since the week before our Disney vacation in May). If you recall I was supposed to get it cut this past Tuesday but due to the raging thunderstorm we had I rescheduled. This time I’m going to have her go just a bit shorter than she did last time so that if I end up going 10-12 weeks between appointments again it’ll be a bit more manageable. Because right now? Not so manageable.
With any luck the kids will let me take them to the pool tonight. We haven’t been in WEEKS and they only have about 8 more weeks in which to enjoy the pool. And I still have NO tan going whatsoever. That’s so wrong. Denis MAY be going to a poker game tonight. On my mommies forum one of the ladies mentioned it was time that the spouses get together on their own, and opened up her house for a poker night tonight. It’s a cheap buy-in ($20) and should be fun if he decides to go.
As much fun as it could be, I’ve decided not to go for the reason I told you yesterday. I don’t know any of the people there. If I knew one of them, I’d go, but that’s not the case. Sorry. Thanks for the offer though.
