So last night I was still frustrated with the whole “iTunes won’t let you download their music onto anything other than an iPod” and began some serious searching on ways to convert their M4P files into MP3s. And I had success.
I found reviews of a program called Tunebite which will rerecord the M4P files direct from iTunes onto your computer. I had downloaded an audiobook from iTunes (foolishly thinking that an audiobook wouldn’t be downloaded as an M4P file since it’s not a song. D’oh – I’m an idiot). Anyway, I downloaded the book only to find that it was an M4P file. But when I read the reviews about Tunebite and ran their demo (which will rerecord 30 seconds of any file you want to convert to show it’s capabilities), I was sold and promptly downloaded the program.
And so for just over 3 hours I converted six hours of “The Ricky Gervais Show, Season One” which is the audiobook podcast from the creator of the original “The Office” in England, and is considered one of the most downloaded podcasts of all time. And since I love Ricky Gervais, I knew I’d enjoy listening to it to and from work.
And I wasn’t wrong. This morning I listened to the first 30 minutes and was laughing the whole time. What a brilliant show. I adore Ricky Gervais – his laugh is one of the most amazing laughs ever because it’s so over the top but absolutely real at the same time.
