Since our White Elephant party is in two short weeks I realized that it’s time to start making the cookies that we give away each year. Fortunately since our attendee number is being cut in half due to the new location we don’t have to make as much food as we normally do. I got started late – around 10:30 p.m., but since we have two ovens I was able to get them done in one swoop.
Just before the cookies were due out of the oven, CootieGirl came downstairs. Beet red and hot as blazes. A quick of her temp came in at 100.8 so I gave her some medicine and sent her back to bed.
Denis was told at daycare today that a stomach virus is going around – I sure hope she’s not getting it.
As for CootieBoy, he was thrilled to find his bed in our room and we spent a good 30 minutes chilling together and he finally laid down around 9 p.m. It’s now 12:34 a.m. and we haven’t heard a peep.
Yet.
Soo…this is a stupid question (particularly for someone who created Super Mom), but….when you make cookies that far ahead of time, you just freeze them, right? So – you just thaw them when you need them? How do they taste, compared to just-made?
(As you can tell, I’m cooking-challenged.)
Yes, we freeze them in our deepfreezer, making sure they are wrapped up airtight in plastic wrap inside a tupperware container. We normally take them out of the freezer two days prior to the party and package them up for the takeaway and then just leave those packages out so that the cookies are perfect by the time we hand them out to guests as they leave the party.
I’ve got one word for fresher frozen cookies – FoodSaver.
You can tell who just got a FoodSaver.
